How Do I Import Google Takeout Into Plex?
Plex sorts photos by date. A Takeout export has no dates, so the library looks random until you fix them.
Plex reads the capture date from inside each photo to build its timeline. Google Takeout leaves that empty and puts the date in a .json file beside the picture, which Plex ignores.
The result is a photo library where everything shares one date, or shows no date at all. Album art and sorting both suffer. Rescanning does not help, because there is nothing new to read.
