Write the real date into the video file itself, the same way you would with a photo, and every player sorts correctly.
Video files have their own date field, and when it is empty, players and galleries fall back on the file date. That is why one holiday can end up split across two years.
The real date is usually still available. In a Google Takeout export it is in the .json file beside the video. Otherwise the file's modified date is often close enough to be worth using.
