Yes. Pick a pattern and add whatever text you want to it.
The building blocks are the date, the time, and the place, and you can combine them however you like: 2019-07-14 Paris.jpg, or 2019-07-14-1105.jpg, or the original name with the date in front. On top of that you can add your own words to a whole batch, so a folder becomes Summer 2019 - 2019-07-14 Paris.jpg, or carries a family name, or an event.
It is most useful when you are merging photos from several people into one archive and want to know later whose camera a picture came from.
Whatever pattern you choose, the app shows a live preview of a real filename before it writes anything, so you can see the result rather than guess at it. Folders work the same way: by year, by month, by place, or left exactly as they are. The first 500 photos are free.
